“Agencia de posicionamiento web en Cancún” is the query Google has shown us the most in the last 90 days: 181 impressions, zero clicks, average position 33,4. Page four. Before touching anything on our side, we did the obvious: pull the six results that do sit on page one and measure them.
No opinions on who does it best. We downloaded each one’s HTML on September 30, 2026 and counted what can be counted: body words, headings, structured data, title length and description length.
What’s on page one, measured
- Huella Digital — 747 words, 4 H2s, Organization schema. Title of 64 characters (Google truncates near 60).
- Upwego — 2.203 words, 10 H2s, no local business schema. Their page isn’t about Cancún: it’s about leads B2B.
- Auténtico SEO — 1.549 words, 6 H2s, and the most complete markup of the group: LocalBusiness, FAQPage, Person,
Organization. - BWE — 1.350 words, 5 H2s, with FAQPage,
AggregateRating and geographic coordinates. The page weighs 753 KB. - Kabana — 1.734 words, 11 H2s, organization and search schema. Its meta description is 200 characters: it gets cut in the results.
- Our page — 1.386 words, 3 H2,
FAQPage implemented. Average position 17,3 over the last eleven days.
The pattern: it’s not length, it’s coverage
The instinct when you see page one is to count words and write more. The numbers don’t say that. The top result has 747 words, less than half the second. What actually separates the top from the rest is how many different questions the page answers.
Kabana opens with “Why doesn’t your company show up on Google?” and closes with “How much does SEO cost in Cancún?” Auténtico SEO dedicates an H2 to “What does an SEO strategy in Cancún look like?” BWE has a full frequently asked questions section marked as
FAQPage. Between the three they cover price, timeline, method, and proof.
Our page has three headings and none of them answer “how much” or “how long.” That’s the real gap—and you don’t close it by writing a thousand more words about the same thing.
Three of the six have a storefront problem
Huella Digital’s title is 64 characters and ends with “– Huella digital ®”. Google trims around 60: the registered mark symbol eats the space that could say what they sell. Kabana’s meta description is 200 characters, about 45 more than will show. BWE’s, 164, gets cut halfway through “link build…”.
They’re ten-minute fixes nobody touches because the site already ranks. And they still work: being on top with a mediocre title is still being on top. But it cracks the door for whoever shows up with the storefront in order.
No one’s fighting for the exact phrase
Here’s what’s interesting for anyone looking to enter. Of the six results,
only two have the exact phrase “agencia de posicionamiento web en
Cancún” in the title. Upwego, which appears on page one, doesn’t even mention
Cancún: it ranks with a page about B2B leads.
Put differently: Google is filling page one with what it can find, not what truly fits. That happens when demand outstrips the supply of well-made pages. And demand here isn’t small: among the posicionamiento web in Cancún variants that already show us — “posicionamiento web cancun” (173 impressions), “posicionamiento web en cancun” (114), “posicionamiento organico cancun” (107) — they add up to hundreds of monthly impressions with not a single click for us, because they all fall between positions 18 and 45.
What we’d do with this page if it were a client’s
The same thing we’re going to do with ours, in this order:
- Add the missing headings: price, timeline, what the service includes, and what’s delivered each month. Four H2s, not forty paragraphs.
- Mark the questions as a real FAQPage, with the content visible on the page, not just in the JSON-LD.
- Rewrite the title under 60 characters with the searched phrase up front and no brand tail.
- A section with a measurable case: what was done, when, and before-and-after impressions. None of the six have a single proprietary number.
It’s a week’s work, not a quarter. And the comparison above makes it clear why it’s worth it: you don’t have to beat a giant; you have to do well what six pages are doing halfway.
How to replicate this analysis in your sector
You don’t need any paid tool for this. Search the phrase that matters, open every result on page one, and note: word count, number of H2s, which questions it answers, which structured data it carries, and how long the title is. In a spreadsheet, that’s half a morning. What comes out is a plan with names and specifics, not a list of best practices.
If you’d prefer we do it with the phrase that moves your business,
write to us and we’ll send the full table, with your page included in
the comparison and the specific order we’d fix it.
The six results were downloaded and measured on September 30, 2026;
search positions change daily and may not match when you read this. Our impression and position figures are from Google Search Console, 90 days through September 29, 2026.
